Sigma controls how bright a pixel must be to count as a star. The algorithm measures the image's background level and noise, then only picks pixels brighter than background + sigma × noise. Lower values (2-3) detect fainter stars but risk picking up noise. Higher values (7-10) only keep the brightest, most obvious stars. A value of 5 is a good starting point for most images. Enable Debayer (RGGB) for raw one-shot-color (OSC) camera images that have not been debayered — this converts the RGGB Bayer mosaic into a luminance channel before analysis, giving cleaner HFR/FWHM measurements.
